Studio Visitation & Workshop Rules
Ensuring safety and respect in our creative workspace.
1. Safety Around the Kiln
Our Asheville studio operates high-fire ceramic kilns. Visitors must never touch the exterior of the kilns or enter the designated firing zone marked by yellow floor lines. Temperature fluctuations are extreme, and safety is our priority.
2. Appointment Policy
The studio is an active workspace for architects and artisans. Walk-ins disrupt the delicate nature of wheel throwing and drafting. Please strictly adhere to your scheduled appointment time.
3. Material Handling
We welcome you to interact with material samples (wood grains, glazes, fabrics) in the designated presentation room. Please refrain from handling active works-in-progress on artisan workbenches, as unfired clay and uncured finishes are highly fragile.
4. Photography
Photography for personal inspiration is permitted in the showroom area. However, photographing blueprints, active client projects, or specific artisan techniques on the work floor requires prior permission.
5. Children and Pets
Due to the presence of sharp tools, heavy raw wood slabs, and fragile ceramics, children under 12 must be closely supervised at all times. Pets are not permitted inside the production areas of the studio.
