Our Story

Born from a desire to return to tactile, meaningful design.

The Origins of Hideot

Radar Team Hideot was established in 2018 when architect Julian Hideot and master ceramicist Clara Vance realized they were having the exact same conversation about modern living: spaces had become too sterile, and objects too disposable.

They secured an old textile mill at 142 Artisan Alley in Asheville and transformed it into a holistic studio where interior architecture and artisanal object creation could happen under one roof. Today, our team includes spatial designers, woodworkers, and kiln specialists who collaborate to build environments that feel inherently human.

Our Philosophy

Tactility First

We prioritize materials that age beautifully and feel incredible to the touch. Raw woods, unglazed ceramics, and natural linens are our foundation.

Spatial Empathy

A room must serve the people within it. We design for real life, ensuring our spaces are as functional and forgiving as they are beautiful.

Local Craft

Everything we make is crafted in our Asheville studio or sourced from trusted local artisans who share our commitment to sustainability.
